the Geneva Centre
for Humanitarian Demining
The Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining supports Humanitarian Mine Action through operational assitance, research and support to the implementation of the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention. It is an independant Foundation supported by 18 governments. GICHD staff is composed of some 30 employees. The Centre is directed by Ambassador Stephen Nellen. The Budget of the Centre is partly provided by the Swiss government (through its Departments of Defence and Foreign affairs). Contributions from some Member States of the Foundation council are also provided.
